Biometric Feedback
Listen to your body.
In our life we find ourselves in uncomfortable situations (in work and personally) that our bodies physically react to. DEI and leadership trainings often describe this uncomfortableness as an elevated heart rate, shortness of breath, or sweaty palms.
MI-VR is focused on quantifying discomfort through data: heart rate variation, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, and an individual’s overall stress before, during, and after the VR experience. As participants interact with DEI scenarios through a VR headset, biometric data is captured through a wrist band which will be discussed through facilitated conversations.
Participants will have an opportunity to compare their data with health and wellness data from other underrepresented communities. This data and discussion of professional and personal experiences of individuals and communities can be used to help inform participants of privilege, trauma, access, and safety. The goal being creating situational awareness which connects science to empathy, and influencing people toward action.
